By way of documenting my NY experience, I took along my Special Gentleman’s fancy camera, pretended I knew how to use it and have happily snapped my way through the city. The collection of images grew and I planned to upload regularly to avoid a highly possible mass deleting incident. Turns out that not only do I not know how to work the camera but also don’t know how to get the photos from there to the laptop (what, no wires? How novel!).
Alas my little computer has no slot for the memory card and this development had me nothing shot of flummoxed. After a few days lamenting, I took to my friends on Twitter and asked for help. A ‘card reader’ was what I needed. A card reader, no less. A piece of equipment made for the sole purpose of taking photos from camera to laptop when you have no wires or slots. Well! Isn’t technology great?

So there you have a little taster of my first weekend of exploration. Please excuse the unattractive formatting but my site design doesn’t seem to let me do what I would like – you get the idea anyway!
Now all I have to do is figure out how to get the other 200 photos off my phone…
In Other News…
It turns out that asking people to offer one song suggestion for my NY playlist is akin to asking that they bare their soul. It is highly amusing to find someone run after you from the bar to the subway to change their song choice. Anyway, the good news is that the list is growing and I shall be adding a page listing all entries so far, this week.
In the meantime, today’s song comes courtesy of me! I’m off to interview a Vintage blogger and am taking the subway to 110th St; ever since we made the arrangement, I have been singing this non-stop. Listen once today and you’ll have yourself an ear worm for the rest of the week. Enjoy!
