For the last few years I have happily worked as both a Vintage stylist and an event manager, keeping the two completely separate with no real crossover at all.
Since the end of last year I was pondering this fact, questioning why, when I regularly and avidly attend wonderful Vintage events both in Ireland and overseas, had I not brought the two together myself? Well it turned out I didn’t have an answer good enough to satisfy and so, after much planning and consideration with the fabulous fashion historian Ruth Griffin, The Vintage Sessions were jolly well born!
Tomorrow sees The Vintage Sessions rolling in to town; taking place at 27 South William St from 11am – 7pm.
The Vintage Sessions shall be a lovely celebration of Vintage in Ireland today where guests can learn more about Vintage through panel discussions about Vintage in Ireland and The Evolution of the Creative Quarter; fashion history talks on The Lost Fashion History of South William St., Forgotten Irish Style Icons and 1940s Fashion in Ireland; fabulous retro hair & makeup styling, a mini-Vintage photo shoot on our own ‘paper moon’, an exhibition of Irish style photos dating from the 1950s to 2000 as presented in the wonderful book Where Were You?; Vintage workshops; retro style fashion parades as well as the opportunity to shop original Vintage from our handpicked interior and fashion traders.
Tickets include all of the above, cost €15 and will be available on the door from 11am.
We really hope to see you there tomorrow for a china-cup tipple and a lovely Vintage experience.
Ps – I have been unable to post any sooner about this lovely event because I have been experiencing intentional malicious attacks from a on my blog from an unknown spammer … horrid. Thankfully my lovely web host has saved my blog although comments will no longer be public and will require a log-in. I hope this doesn’t put anyone off sharing their thoughts with me. Take that spammer!
